PREACHING IN A POLARIZED CULTURE
April 20-22, 2022 | Washington, DC

In a country that is increasingly divided along party lines, preachers and pastors face the challenge of engaging the significant questions of our common civic life from the pulpits of our churches. In this three-day pilgrimage to our nation's capital, United Methodist pastors from the Florida Annual Conference are invited to engage with pastors serving in Washington about how they hold Gospel commitments and public issues together in their preaching.

Joining the group in conversation will be Ginger Gaines-Cirelli (Foundry UMC), Randy Hollerith (Washington National Cathedral), Bill Lamar (Metropolitan AME) and Donna Claycomb Sokol (Mount Vernon Place UMC). Facilitating these conversations will be Jim Harnish, Christine Parton Burkett, and Nathan Kirkpatrick.

The group will be staying at the storied Washington Hilton. Meals will be on your own.

Registration costs are being subsidized by the Florida Institute of Preaching committee and the Marcy Fund.
